Oh I now believe Gordon is all show. He gets paid to be like that--I'm fairly certain the "kevin" guy comes stright out of hell's kitchen. I think I remember his face from when he would help others in the kitchen when the numbers dwindled...maybe I'm wrong but he has a familiar face.

Okay, Cindy, how did we do on Amazing Race last night? It's your job to keep us updated on Team Gindy.
Last night was the premiere of Three Rivers, I think it's called, the new doctor show with Alex O'Loughlin. It's on right after AR, so I can't see it, either. Alex O is hot, hot, hot, so I hope someone watched and can tell me if it (he) was goodness.
I've been watching Heros in bits and pieces, flipping between stations. That show lost me last year so I'm not that invested this season, but I wanted to see Robert Knepper. It's unsettling to me that he hasn't changed his hair or look from T-Bag, and I keep waiting for him to speak with a southern accent. It's too T-Bag, too soon!
Cindy, that bald Hell's Kitchen contestant has been keeping a low profile and was my favorite until lately; now that he's talking smack in the confessionals he's lost his panache with me. There is a bald guy who helps when contestants get low; I've seen him in the background once or twice this season, so they aren't the same person. Just sport the same hairdo! I like the guy with the broken wrist, the guy who talks through his nose. I can see him or the bald guy as head chef at that Whistler restaurant.
I'm liking Flashforward. The second ep was good. But no way should the wife tell the husband she saw herself with another lover in her flash, and she should NEVER have told him that she actually MET the guy. Gah. She just made their failed relationship a self-fulfilling prophecy.
Nelra, you watch Jon and Kate ... what are your thoughts about Jon getting kicked off the title, then Jon kicking camera crews off his property? I get a kick out of him saying he's protecting his kids when all along the show was exploiting his kids. But now he's not getting a paycheck. Funny how Kate is now a celebrity and is getting her own talk show, I've heard.
I watched a Lost rerun this weekend. Peanut, do you remember that Claire and her mom were in a car crash in her flashback, and the mom was in a comma and being paid for by Jack's dad ... who is also revealed as Claire's dad? When a pregnant Claire got on flight 815, her mom was still in a comma. Then she is alive and well in present day when Kate gives her Aaron. When did she wake up? Or is SHE dead, too, and Kate gave Aaron to a dead person so she could reunite him with his dead mom? Gah!

Ginger: I'm liking Flashforward too..that little girl is starting to steal the show..It helps that they rerun the eppies on Fridays ...3 rivers ..I was debating that but so far, I'm watching that Mercy medical show but could take it or leave it. We are doing very well--we are in the top 3 ..It's our high school sweethearts, harlem globetrotters, then us..we lost some ground when we has to wheel a fake animal around and collect balloons. You had to smash apart to vcr's to recycle them and did very well, you are great with a hammer:-) Jon's remorse is convenient isn't it? So transparent. They are crying because they had no lawyer when they signed with them but have now made millions? Please. Your kids didn't have lawyers either so they had NO say. They should have just stuck to specials once a yr. Can't have it both ways Jon and Kate may be a pampered diva, but I wouldn't talk to Jon now either..Larry King? Really classy!

Ok, somebody needs to remind me to watch the Good Wife on Tuesdays..I forgot last week. For some reason, I keep forgeting the new schedule.
Ginger: We are still in third on AR --one of us had to learn "monkey" moves in Cambodia--I did very well, I wonder why?:-) One of the teams lost a passport. Ran in first, then lost a passport--I'm just thankful it wasn't me because that's a "Cindy" thing to do.
***Hands Ginger the passports*** you keep them, I'll keep the money:-)
Oh and we had to run through a crowded market looking for a lady with a green scarf. She tried to run from me but I tripped her with a crutch and you tackled her and hauled her back to the booth for our next clue..go Gindy!

Too funny, Cindy, I saw The Good Wife on my tv schedule and thought, "Well, I can't see that station, but I should remind Cindy to watch it." As they say, "The road to hell is paved with good intentions!"
Because of a high workload combined with a modem that went down, I never got here to tell you, Cindy, that YESTERDAY was the audition here for Hell's Kitchen. I was going to come and pick you up so we could audition as a team. You would be a shoe-in to get chosen, so I planned to ride along on your (chef's coat) coattails. Rats. With us coming off a win on Amazing Race, we would for sure be the audience favs on HK.
Speaking of, I yelled out something happy when Dave won HK last night. I really like his humour and how hard he worked, plus his nasal speech is endearing. I thought Kevin would have made a great head chef too, but Dave just appealed to me. I was very happy with how that show ended, and I'd love to go to Whistler and eat one of his venison dishes. Heck, I'd love to go to Whistler and eat a dollar burger at Mickey's!
I was thinking, too, how absolutely COOL it would be to have a husband/boyfriend who is a chef like those guys. Then if my husband won a job as $$$ chef in Whistler? Wow. There are no words.
I flipped off of Biggest Loser most of the night. Haven't ANY of these people watched this show before? The gal crying because she MUST have Bob as her trainer was so last season, and the season before that. Doesn't she remember that Jillian trains the winners and Bob has NEVER YET trained a season winner? That was all proven ONCE AGAIN last night; even though Tracey thought she "stacked" the teams in blue's favor, black Jillian team WON AGAIN. This happens every single season, Tracey, you moron. Then when Mo was voted off instead of b*tch Tracey? No way could I watch that train wreck. What a bunch of idiots, being led around by Vickey ... oh, I mean Tracey. Got my seasons confused.
Monkey moves, hey? I think I could tie with you in talent for that event, Cindy!

Okay, Cindy, it's your turn to recap Grey's here for me. I've been watching it and flipping to Supernatural during commercials; last night SN was SO much better than GA, I watched that instead and only flipped to GA at the end to catch the TOTALLY STUPID ending of Izzy leaving work/town/Alex/everything via a FREAKING NOTE stuck in his locker. Gah. I am really hating that show, the writing is beyond infantile. (But I'm still addicted so want to know what happened!) Heh.

OK no problem Ginger. BTW, I did remember to watch the good wife on Tuesday..I'm really enjoying that one...
Grey's --Callie's Dad shows up with a priest to try to get the gay out of her ..lol It doesn't work, but by the end of course he decided to accept the relationship because he realized he was going to lose her otherwise.
Christina is frustrated running around the hospital looking for good surgeries. She is getting very upset over "not holding a heart in her hands" and says she misses Burke for that reason. By the end, she is curled up in the hospital bed with Mer (who is recovering and telling people to bring her updates--she and derek seem to be the only stable couple a nice change) Anyway, you can see the Christina situation will come to a boil soon.
I honestly didn't get why Izzie took off. She made a mistake with a patient so the patient couldn't have the transplant they needed (she gave the wrong meds) so the chief fired her and she was all "but you forgave me for Denny.. ) and had a hissy fit and took off. It was so contrivied..we'll just give her the "I had an unexpected baby in real life" excuse.
This merger crap is just dumb, now we have moe characters to keep track of. Little Grey feels bad for stealing another interns little book when she realizes the girl is jus writing notes of encourgement to herself...gag me. She and Mark seem to be in limbo--totally boring. Mainly this yr I'm enjoying stable Mer..It's a nice change. She was hugging Christina at the end..nice moment. Think that's about it.
Looking forward to Amazing Race..see you there!

Honestly Grey's is driving me crazy with the "merger" this yr. All the yelling/screaming over cases this yr is just giving me a headache. I'm so tired of the whining and the chief is being ridiculous sitting up in his office while all of this happens and inattentive residents kill people. Seriously, stop the merge and get back to good storytelling.
I'm enjoying Eastwick--new one about 3 women with magical powers Wed at 10pm
Fastforward decent but the concept is kind of getting old already as they all repeat there visions--wish <I> knew where it was going:P

Did remember to watch the good wife tonight--too bad it was a repeat already (and not the one I missed) Debut in Sept, repeat in October. I guess this is why I pay so much for cable:P
Ginger: There was a big @ss waterslide on AR--Almost 90 degrees --you had to push me down it but we made it! High school sweethearts in front of us, but she is getting whiny so I think we can overtake them! They got free jetskis for coming in first..I want those!

Cindy, we couldn't disagree more on Flashforward and Grey's. Two weeks ago, Flashforward ended with the most HOLY CR*P ending I have EVER seen, best cinematography, best editing, best sound, best sequence. When the woman agent was shot and she's bleeding out while the rolling alarm clock is Spirographing through the blood saying, "It's time to get up...it's time to get up..." and that haunting music playing. Like I said, Holy Cr*p. Best.Ending.EVER. I was irked that week by Joseph Fiennes' constant tilting his head down to look UP, which makes him look HOT! but so repetitious. Last week he gave us more different facial views, so I've forgiven him for the prior week of Hot.Staring.
This week I was so disappointed in his arguing with wife Olivia, although their bickering as written is true-to-life, so it's heart-breaking. That's just the way married life is, folks. I do wonder why everyone thinks the blackouts were a glimpse into the future instead of just a dream sequence, but then there would be no show.
Grey's two weeks ago was the first ep I've watched all the way through for a LONG time. I loved it. It was the flashback ep to show how the woman died and all the mis-communication. I liked the same scene being played out from the different perspectives of people who were there. Then the last scene was a SMASHER, after the Chief pins the death on the one doc and fires her, Derek tells the Chief the chaos was all his fault as a cr*ppy administrator so, basically, the woman died because of HIM. Bravo. Well-written and to-the-point ending.
This week Grey's was back to cr*p writing. I liked the focus on Derek, but for real, he drew all over the wall while for the first time ever being attentive to Meredith as an equal? And he stands for 10 freaking hours in the OR and does nothing REALLY? Then he asks Little Grey to be in the surgery based on WHAT? Little Grey's big demonstrative speech praising her diaper was embarrassing and a prime example of the terrible high-school drama this show has become. Gah. It was uncomfortable for me to watch in its stupidity, and I was embarrassed for the actress. And Alex is being set up to screw the new red-headed nurse. I HATE that story line. And what's up with people leaving their partners (Burke, Izzy) by just disappearing/leaving a freaking NOTE? High school kids would do it better than these (supposed) doctors. Still getting a kick out of Ellen Pompeo's pregnancy being covered up by her constantly being in bed. Heh. Funny.

To be fair to flashforward I'm basically watching it between survivor commercials now. I used to watch it on the Friday repeat. I'll likely end up watching the FFed repeats to get the full effect. I could tape it, I guess I just keep hoping it will show up on Friday again.
I'm glad the intern stuff seems to be settling on Grey's. ITA on the chief, he's a mess and ITA on Izzy just leaving and not showing for treatment. It's really out of character and not necessary IMO. They could have just said she needed to leave for treatment and not made her look so bad.
I think Derek just took Little Grey in to stand around ---to keep her quiet. ITA that she is annoying. I'm really not sure what they are doing with Christina/Owen.
LOL on Mer being in bed all the time--it's so not her but better than a break up for months..lol
I guess I just enjoyed seeing Derek do what he does and calling out the chief. Ita about the pee breaks though. Maybe he didn't want to admit he wears a diaper too...lol

Okay, I forgive you for dissing Flashforward, Cindy. I watch several shows during commercials; Grey's is one of those, watched during Supernatural commercials! I'm loving Flashforward right now. Hot Fiennes ... gah, I could look at him all day. And night. Heh. Anyway, Peter Coyote turning out to be TPOTUS two weeks ago was another Holy Cow! moment on that show for me. I love PC; he's way HOT, too.
Liked your take on Grey's. Thanks for settling me down, I was pretty radical with my thoughts on that show! I do prefer Mer being in bed over her leaving Derek a note and running away, so thanks for pointing that out! Writers could have had Izzy crying over losing her job, then going home (to mom? eh ...) or someplace where she can meditate and get her chemo while still having a relationship/marriage with Alex. That show finally turned Alex into a nice guy and now they will make him jerky again when he sleeps with the red-headed doctor (not nurse, sorry) who is stalking him.
I hate all the new interns, plus I can't believe Mercy West had their doctors wearing orange, for Pete's sake. Like they were all convicts or something. They DO make other colors of scrubs. I did read the show's creator said "every character will be leaving," so I'm looking at all the new interns taking the place of the higher-paid present actors in the next few years. A mistake, but then, writers on that show don't listen to me.
I did like Derek being shown as a doctor, so liked that story line. Also liked the end, when Chief fired Derek. Then Derek telling him to go sleep on it. Chief is being written worse than a high-school student himself, so I'm ready for his character to leave and Derek to take over that job. The guy basically has no common sense and, pardon my bluntness, no b*lls.
Cat, are you watching Supernanny? The premiere two weeks ago ... wow. That husband was severely in need of professional treatment, and the submissive wife needed serious therapy. That poor 13-year-old daughter being raised by that guy ... just wow. They all needed serious, serious help, more than what Supernanny could give them. I'm saying the husband leaves, they get divorced, all because "Supernanny tried to help us and couldn't, so I quit." Just a horrible ep to watch. This week's was much better, just wild kids, and parents got lessons on how to control them.
Cindy, the radio show I listen to overnight gives AR recaps around 3 a.m. on Sunday morning, so I heard about the waterslide and the snowman challenge the week before in Dubai. Wish I could see it in real life! I can't watch Survivor, either. Darn you, digital upgrade, for not broadcasting CBS in my area!

I've been happy with the endings of my fav reality shows. Danny won Biggest Loser; he was so genuine and totally "got it" about losing weight and being successful and happy afterward. Russell won So You Think You Can Dance. I liked him from the beginning, and especially liked that when their phone numbers were put on the screen for voting, he didn't do that finger-number thing that I HATE ON EVERY VOTING SHOW. The numbers are on the screen, stop being dorks and pointing your fingers around to make numbers and look stupid. But anyway ... I loved Legacy, Jakob and Russell on SYTYCD; they all were fabulous. Any of the girl dancers could get voted off, I didn't care much about any of them and saw them only as vehicles for those three hottie guys to dance with. Heh. I got tired of the wedded bliss and happiness of the married Ryan and What's Her Name. Gah. Give them a couple of years and they'll be divorced too.
My heart broke last week after Flashforward and the announcer said "see you in March." WTH? Now all of the shows are ending for the "season," leaving me with nothing to watch.
Three Rivers got canceled after eight eps; CBS isn't even going to show the remaining five. I never got to see it (can't get CBS), but feel sorry for Alex O'Loughlin. To make up for him losing yet another show, I'll support him here: "Love ya, Alex!"
CW is pimping Vampire Diaries like crazy. It's already been rerun at least four times, now there is a week-long "marathon" showing all the eps yet again. It's pre-empting reruns of Supernatural; I am not happy! I've already seen VD (heh) at least twice each and need to catch up on my Sam and Dean.
It's going to be a bleak television winter, I fear.

Yup all the "new" shows only get 13 eppies to prove themselves then they expect you to remember them for 3 months. LOL at CBC oh Ginger, never get caught up in Canadian TV--it either sounds cheap/looks terrible or they cancel it after 5 minutes because they have no money. Exceptions Anne of Green Gables and the Wind at my Back lol
I watched some vampire thing on Much Music the other day..I suppose that was it. (2 brothers one evil one good? and in love with a pretty girl?? ) Honestly, I thought Robert Pattinson deserved a royalty cheque...Copy much??? :-)

Post by gingerbird on Dec 17, 2009 14:12:51 GMT -5
Oh, Rob Pattinson shouldn't get a royalty check; he is merely an actor who caught a lucky break after being just another face in the Hogwarts crowd in Harry Potter! But yes, Vampire Diaries is about a vamp boy in high school who falls in love with a chick who looks exactly like his old girlfriend from a hundred years ago. Then evil brother moves in (after he got killed and kicked off Lost!) and causes trouble by feeding on the locals. Nice vamp brother follows the creed of my beloved vampire, Mick St. John (HOT! Alex O'Loughlin) and eats animal blood. Although to be fair, Mick got his food from a vamp buddy at the morgue, packaged recycled "used" human blood. No different than how we get our steaks pre-packaged at the grocers!
Unlike Twilight, VD has no werewolves or anything other than the good vam/evil vamp and a love (sort of) triangle. It's pretty CW high-schoolist, but okay I guess. Supernatural is so WAY much better! Check that one out if you can. It's got all sorts of things going on, with Bible studies thrown in for good measure for the (upcoming) ultimate showdown of evil vs. good. The show also makes me LOL as it's very cleverly written.
