Hey, check out this new show that's on tonight on ABC:
Conveyor Belt of Love: Five women each choose a date from among 30 men presented to them on a conveyor belt; each man has 60 seconds to impress the ladies, who will each choose their favorite potential mate for a date.
I can't even make a comment about that, but I think I'll watch it! It's on right after the new Bachelor, who is Jake this time, my favorite guy from the Jillian Bachelorette season. The board made fun of him since he's all "gosh-golly" and wholesome, but that's the sort of guy I like, and let me tell you, they are hard to find! He's also an extreme hunk and blond on top of being a pilot, so what's not to like. Unfortunately, all 25 women they've picked for him are cookie-cutter look-alikes. And I doubt any of them are there to find "love." Funny that Melissa, the reject from two seasons ago who ended up on Dancing WTStars, has married her old boyfriend, the one she broke up with right before she went on The Bachelor as a contestant.
Heroes returns tonight, too, but I tried hard to get invested in that before the break and just could care less about Teddy and his carnival collection. I do wish Robert Knepper would have changed his looks from T-Bag, though, as I keep expecting him to break into southern speak and pull his pocket out.

I heard about this show! LOL Given the carnival atmosphere, I expected it to be on TLC!:-) I shall have to watch a few minutes of it just to see how bad it is LOL Seriously, who says "I'm going to meet the love of my life in 60 seconds..wooohhooo" LOL
I was shocked to see desperate housewives return with little fanfare, and it was a pretty good eppy. Full credit to their writers who seem to come up with endless twists every season--I'll miss smarmy Carl though.
Brothers and Sister returned as well with only monor fighting among the sibs..always an accomplishment--can't seem to shut this one off though, one of the few family dramas left out there.

Hey Cindy, I watched Conveyor Belt of Love and thought it was a fun good time, those women were a hoot, and so were most of the men. I don't view it as you do, "I'm going to meet the love of my life," but rather as a dating show. I'd jump at the chance to pass on a conveyor belt full of different guys, it was better than one of those speed-dating events that are real life in every city. It was a good time, and the dates showed whether they would go out again or not, and why, just like the old "Blind Date" show, except not so drawn out. This will be a weekly watch for me, fun and light-hearted, unlike Bachelor which focuses on one person finding a wife/husband in an artificial atmosphere. Two thumbs up from Ginger.
I haven't bothered with DH or B&S for a few seasons now. I turn in once in a while when nothing else is on, but I find myself turning the channel when dialogue/plot gets too stupid, which means I only last a few minutes in each show.
I've been watching S1, then S2 of Grey's on weekends. I had forgotten how good that show USED to be when it started. I still enjoy those old eps. Does anyone remember Burke getting Christina pregnant, or Alex refusing to kiss Izzy on their first date? Yeah, good times. I feel the same about GA as I do about DH and BS now, although I do suffer through one hour of it so as to catch a peek at Kevin McKidd.

Oh I missed the dating one! I shall have to look next week for fun. That's true, if you just look at it as an experience, it's a whole different thing. So, it's Mondays at 8 or 9???
The good wife is new tonight, going to watch in s few minutes. I love new eppies, so long overdue!
Yes, old GA rocked. Only good present story is Mer stopped whining!:-)

I finally watched season one of weeds Ginger..interesting, edgy ect..Kids are majorly screwed up and you can see why it's not a cable show:-) I usually hate M-L Parker (hated her on West Wing) but she is good as the harried Mom. Could she be anymore clueless about selling weed??:-)

LOL no, but I've heard that it's the last season and will be fabulous. Sounds like it went off the rails but made a comeback last yr and will finish strong---gotta love a show like that and any Matt Fox is a good thing. I've been watching "Party of Five" lately (his early work when he was "dad" to his siblings at 20 after his parents were killed in an accident) I always thought he was fab and the series deserved better than it got.

*waves* Hi! I'm new!
Peanut, I WAS a Lostie for five years or so, but it got too weird for even me to understand--and I'm a huge SciFi geek. When my dad asked me why I "broke up with it," I said: "Because the producers of 'Lost' have fired their entire writing team of human beings, and it is now being written by helper monkeys with laptops."
However, being 42 and of "the TV Generation", I love a lot of shows (in no particular order):
"Lost," "The Mentalist," "Lie to Me," "Grey's Anatomy," "Fringe," "Bones," "NCIS," "Ghost Whisperer," "The Tudors," "Dexter," "Nip/Tuck," "Rescue Me," "Monk," "Medium," "House," "Criminal Minds," "Numbers," "CSI," and a whole hoarde of long-ago cancelled shows (as in 20 years ago!)
However, my top three favorite television shows of all time will always be:
1. "The Twilight Zone" (original, of course) 2. "M*A*S*H" 3. "The Night Stalker" (The good one, with Darren MacGavin)

Hello beowulfgal!
Welcome--glad you came out of lurkdom. I haven't given up on shows so much as they got pulled off the air..lol
West Wing Joan of Arcadia Lipstick Jungle (guilty pleasure)
Peanut no worries, Ginger is a "lostie" and I'm told she has some things to say and will show up soon.
I find it interesting that we are all pretty much in the same age group..apparently, method to our madness:-)

Just finished season 3 of weeds--still can't decide what I think of it..guess I'm wondering who thinks of a single Mom selling weed to maintain a lifestyle? lol
Not sure why this well off couple wouldn't have had life insurance, but then, she wouldn't have had to sell weed I guess! Plus I here Conrad isn't in the next 2 seasons--bummer--liked him!
I must say, I'm getting tired of the olympics---just too many events--miss my regular shows. Oh well, it is some enjoyable scenery.

Hey Cindy, yes I was very excited for the new (and last!) season starting. I found the first season great and then the second season seemed to draaaaaaaaaag on and on and they lost a lot of fans because of that but I decided to stick it out and see how the third season faired and it was so much better so I stuck with it and found the fourth even better and then the last was a totally mind blowing - loved it!!! So am very happy. It's shown on Thursdays here but I was bad and checked online for a recap today - like God forbid I managed to wait another extra day to see it!! I'll probably do that for another few episodes and then I'll get good and not spoil myself - that's what I did last year.
Welcome BeowulfGirl - haven't see you since TWOP! How have you been keeping this past year? Hope everything is going well for you.
I can't believe you gave up on Lost in the last season!! tut tut!!! As you can see, I'm hooked!!
I like a good few of the shows you listed as your faves. I think The Mentalist is great - it's so quirky and I love Simon Baker's character in it - that smile!!! Swoooooon!
I got into Grey's Anatomy in the second season and so bought the first to catch up and watched the third too but the fourth started after I moved back home to mind my Dad and it's not really the kind of show I'm comfortable watching infront of him haha!! I haven't bothered to get a tv for my room so I've recently bought the fourth season to watch on my laptop which means I haven't seen the fifth yet either and they've started showing the sixth so I'm quite a ways behind!! But I'll get there eventually.

Yes, Grey's has become more than a little incestuous, can't say as I blame you for not wanting to watch it in front of Dad:-)
It's so funny, when Private Practice started, I HATED it but IMO, it's had a strong season compared to Grey's.
Ahhh Simon Baker..he is cute..I loved him in The Guardian. I remember being shocked at his accent during one of the late night talk shows...I had no clue he was English and almost fell over when he spoke.

Cindy, I've watched Weeds through the end of S5. If you watch the rest of the seasons, Nancy will do things I don't feel fit her character, plus many of the newest eps contain things just to shock IMO. Still, I'll be interested to see S6 as S5 ended with quite the cliff-hanger, as did the previous seasons. As for Nancy having to deal to sustain her higher-level lifestyle after Denny's (Grey's shout-out) death, I don't find it odd at all ... many people live beyond their means, which is why the banks own so many homes now and college-educated people are homeless. Lots of wives are oblivious to what their husbands did or did not do while alive, including not having insurance -- or having affairs, hello B+S!). BTW, Rob Lowe is leaving B+S, and Calista is rumoured to be leaving as well.
I've lost interest in Grey's, having given it up in favour of Supernatural. The old reruns are great, though. The new storylines ... well, the characters are written to be so STUPID for supposedly being the higher-educated. I like my show characters to be more believable, like Sam and Dean, who travel around with an angel, fighting demons.
Lost is a fabulous show, innovative and the characters all LOOK as though they are lost plane-crash survivors, dirty and sweaty and disheveled. I've watched each ep several times each, and yes, there are discrepancies (like Ben saying whomever moves the island can never come back, then zowie, he's back), but whatever. I love watching the recap shows with the explanatory pop-ups; they add so much to the synchronicity of the storyline. I'm not sure how the flash sideways of this season is working, though. I also am not sure why Desmond was on the plane in the sideways. I think Sayid might now be Jacob.
Matthew Fox is NOT the reason I watch that show. He is way down on my hot-men-of-Lost list. In fact, he's not even on it. No. 1: DESMOND. No. 2: Sawyer because he's tall, blond and a wise-*ss. No. 3: Close to being No. 2 is Sayid, because he can break a man's neck with his legs and would REALLY be able to take care of his woman. After those three, it's pretty much equal. I think Jack Shepherd is wishy-washy. I do REALLY like Kate, a take-charge woman who can kick serious b*tt. Evangeline Lily is just as fun on the talk shows. She's a great role-model, having killed her step father not withstanding.
Cindy, Simon Baker is an Aussie. Not to malign the English, but the Australians are so WAY better. WAY better!
I've finished S2 of Oz and am on to S3 soon. Now there's a great show if anyone misses (watching) prison life.

Shame on me for getting the accent wrong--apparently I didn't recognize the accent he shares with Keith Urban. My library doesn't have season 5 of weeds yet, I had 4 but got it before I watched 3 so I sent it back and now have to wait AGAIN. Bummer.
Oh I heard Oz was edgy too, what's that one about again?
I tried True Blood (ok only 2 eppies on the disk) but I just thought it was weird..lol Maybe I didn't give it enough time but man, I have other stuff to watch:-)
I don't blame you for ditching Grey's--they've never heard of character growth and that can be annoying.
On a positive note, Amazing Race is back this season, shall we give it another Team Gindy go Ginger? We did come in second last yr and we could split the million this yr...:-)

Cindy, I read your comment yesterday morning before going to work and wanted so badly to sign in and correct you on Simon Baker's accent too haha!!! But I didn't have the time and then Ginger beat me too it!
I didn't realise Keith Urban was Australian?? In my defence, I've never heard him speak but as he's a country singer, I just assumed he was American.
Ginger, I so agree with you about Lost. And on the Sayid thing: I had at first thought that but then when the Templars freaked out, I wasn't so sure. Whatever he is, I hope he isn't bad! But then why else would Jacob have Hurely take him to the magic well thing if not to 'inhabit' him??
I also don't watch it for Jack. I love Sawyer, Richard, Hurley, Sayid, Miles and my heart broke for poor Locke when we discovered he was really dead. Poor guy goes through all his searching for his destiny only to wind up dead and being used as a means to kill the very guy he thought he was impressing all this time. Being used by nefarious characters really was the story of his life (and death).
Kate does bug me quite a bit at times but I don't hate her character.
This weeks eppie was very good I thought. I hope Sawyer's playing EvilLocke along. I wish he'd asked him more questions though. Hell, I wish the other characters would ask more questions!! Seriously, who would just go along with the shit that they all go along with? lol. All the Others seem to say is "You need to trust me". They just tried to kill/kidnap/maim whatever! And they expect the Losties to trust them and then the Losties never push that point!! Anyway, it's a minor detail in the grand scheme of things. I'm just really enjoying the ride!
