I didn't know KH was leaving for sure--though she did just tell Ellen she is adopting a baby and didn't expect her so soon so that likely played into it. I wish they could have kept George then. To lose both is kind of silly. I've seen pics of mer/der sex in the premiere--these 2 have really nice chemistry. I'm glad Derek is getting his own story, anything that doesn't involve Mer falling to pieces is good to me and PD has been on the backburner long enough (or dealing with Mer's crap)
So far, really having trouble getting into new stuff. Was looking forward to Leno but I found it cheesy--really should have left him where he was.
Ellen--made comments I really didn't like ie It's my 1 yr anniversary--paper. I want money..excuse me? You have enough, stop sounding so greedy. She does a lot of good, but come on, you know people are struggling so give it a rest. AI judge? No thanks--IMO you should be IN MUSIC for that, not just a spectator--like she needs another job (and more of that $$$)
So far it seems I'd do better reading a good book

I've watched the first part of Leno the last two nights, Cindy, and agree that his monologue has been cheesy, but I don't think the time slot has anything to do with his writers being hacks. I'm just seeing what others have always said about him, that he's pretty scripted. I never noticed it before, but that might be because I was 1-1/2 hours more into sleep time when I viewed The Tonight Show! I am HIGHLY distracted by his new hair, a '70s John Kerry 'do. Maybe that's why I am not liking him at the moment.
I did find his commercial for adult dementia funny last night, though, a take off on that commercial where mom forgets its Sunday when she always makes dinner for her daughter/grandkids. The end of Leno's version showed the mom faking her forgetfulness so the kids would leave and she could enjoy her private dinner with the Chippendale guy who was cooking for her. THAT made me LOL. I also liked the 10 questions with Tom Cruise, although I found Cameron Diaz irritating and wish she either hadn't been involved or had kept her mouth shut and let Tom speak.
So, to sum up, Jay's hair is bugging me even more than Conan's hair bugs Cindy. Heh.
I like Ellen, but that remark about wanting money would have irritated me, too, Cindy. I was bugged when she was trying to sell her property so made a "tour" of the estate part of her show. Talk about free advertising. I don't watch Idol so don't care if she's a judge on that, but I don't expect her to add much constructive to that mix. She was a judge one week on SYTYCDance and I liked her then since she offset snarky remarks some judges were making about one dancer not having the right "face." I would think Simon could get irritated with her on Idol, but he won't be able to show it or she'll make fun of him!
I liked the finale of More To Love; Luke chose the woman I liked, although I think she is too classy for him and could do much, much better. And maybe she will now that the show has aired, although Luke did propose and Tali said yes. I found the show an interesting study in how the big-boobed manipulative woman could maneuver Luke so easily, enough to keep her until the end. Malissa constantly said in her edits she was "in it to win it," and was going to "win" the show. I thought it was good insight into how men (and women) can be so easily used by the smooth talker.
Tonight my two fav show, SYTYCDance and ANTModel, are on opposite each other, then after that there is nothing on to watch. I hate when programming does that to me when picking are so slim.
eta: I saw a wee bit of Biggest Loser during MTL commercial breaks. One contestant is still in the hospital after collapsing during a one-mile race; she went down near the finish line, and the other contestants pulled and pushed her and MADE HER FINISH! Then she went completely comatose. Not sure what liability the show is under for those contestants forcing this woman (who was basically unconscious) to cross the finish line. Another was carted off to the emergency ward after some mishap in the gym. I missed what happened, but he did come back. Meanwhile, the contestant paired with the comatose hospital lady has to lose weight for himself and for her so he can stay in the game. Ouch!

Trivia: The evil vampire brother (Damon, almost like Damien!) on Vampire Diaries is Ian Somerhalder, who played Boone on Lost.

Cindy, I watched Glee last night and sort of liked it. The lead guy is attractive IMO. The ending with Josh Grobin being all wierdo reminded me of Ricky Gervais' Extras; every guest star on that show was pervy in some way, from Kate Winslet to Daniel Radcliffe.

The good wife seems like a pretty good show--nice to see a strong woman in a leading role and of course, nice cast choices--I'll call it a keeper. More boohoooing on biggest loser (only watch during other commercials now) and more yelling from Gordon R on Hell's kitchen--quite old I must say. Either find better "cooks" or teach them something.

Cindy, I forgot to post this yesterday for you. Monday night, Ricky Gervais was on Conan. I absolutely love Ricky, love his tv shows, love his movies, and he's the best and wittiest guest on chat shows. I thought of you, Cindy, because you hate Conan's hair ... Ricky gave him an impromptu "make over" with some water, then took his photo, which he posted on his blog. See the video here: www.fancast.com/tv/The-Tonight-Show-with-Conan-OBrien/103325/1271747864/Gervais-Gets-Conan-Wet/videosOr just see the pic on Ricky's blog: www.rickygervais.com/thissideofthetruth.phpRicky's blog is wildly (maybe "drolly" is a better word) entertaining and so funny, especially when you know his shows and are familiar with his humor. I must say, his "offal jim jam" on Conan made me somewhat uncomfortable, but otherwise, his visit was a hootnahalf. He's on Ellen in just a few minutes. That ought to be a wild ride too. BTW, yesterday Ellen ranked back at those who are ranking on her for being an AI judge. As she said, she has lots of experience since she's been judged her entire life. Touche!

Here are random Grey's memories. Can't remember what happened first hour and what happened second since, as I said, I only watched during commercial breaks, and even flipped off Grey's to watch commercials a couple times since the cr*p writing hasn't gotten better on that high-school hospital soap drama. But anyway ... here's what I remember.
No one knew if George was an organ donor or not (the fake George body with a Freddy Krueger face died pretty much right off at the beginning of the show) since his wallet was "lost" in the accident. Well, if someone could fish arms out of Puget Sound, someone could find a wallet on the street. Plus, what's up with just making a phone call to the DMV and finding out if he's a donor. But I digress. So George's mom shows up now that he's dead, but she can't make a donor decision. His two brothers are off on a hunting trip, so she can't ask them. (Like there's no way to get a hold of them? And she doesn't want to ruin their trip just because their brother is freaking dead? But I digress.)
Anyway, Mom spots Callie in the hospital hallway, so dumps the donor decision on her since she was G's wife. Callie freaks out because she can't make that decision, so she forces Alex to tell Izzy, who has just come back from the dead via cardio-shock paddles. Callie says Izzy has to make the donor decision. This is all so stupid because of course he's a donor, he's a doctor. FINALLY they get to the cut-out-George's-organs scene, with all the different doctors standing there waiting for the pieces. That scene did make me cry, when Bailey made each one say the name of the person who would be getting each piece of him. Unfortunately, there was a cut to commercial. Unfortunate, because that scene was the best promo for organ donation I have seen.
Izzy gets cleared of cancer, and the main cancer doctor dumps her case onto a third-year, which p.o.'s Izzy and Alex, even though that guy is one year ahead of them in skills/knowledge. Anyway, Izzy gets sent home. She still needs treatment, but she is no longer a surgery patient, Bailey tells her.
George has a funeral, which Izzy, Alex, Meredith and Yang spend over behind a mausoleum laughing, especially laughing at the poor woman who George was killed saving. I guess laughter breaks the tension, but I found it disrespectful. The funeral is for the survivors after all. Save the laughing for later, ladies. Later in the show, Meredith will prescribe some pills for the poor survivor woman, who now can't sleep or function, she feels so guilty.
Yang goes to Owen's psych doctor with him, and spends the time cutting up and joking, which is so UN-Yang-like. The show ends with Owen and Yang in bed; he says he doesn't want to hurt her, that he was dreaming before, trying to save his own life in the dream. Yang says he can sleep in the bathtub, so I guess she's decided the strangling thing plays second to having sex.
Speaking of sex, another ending was Izzy and Alex walking into Meredith's house, where they both live, and catching M and D naked on the stairs. Well, Derek was naked (with a blue towel he kept playing with to tease us), M stayed pretty much out of sight. Derek tosses Alex the keys to his trailer, throwing them out of the house and telling them they now live in his cr*ppy trailer. Really nice, Derek, you d*ckhead, since Izzy is coming home to recover from major surgery and is a cancer survivor. But these guys are in high school, what do I expect?
Meanwhile, some hospital admin guy wants to get rid of Chief, so offers the chief job to Derek, who tips Chief off that he's being overthrown. Another meanwhile: Callie doesn't get the promotion she was promised since the guy she was to replace "got his portfolio hit" by the recession so isn't leaving. Callie pulls a big "I'm a super star" scene all over the hospital while she's being followed around by the puppy-faced Chief. Man, these kids need to grow up. But anyway, Callie leaves Seattle Grace and gets a job at Mercy West. Where Arizona sends a kid with "growing pains" and no insurance after Chief won't let her run any (free) tests to find out what's wrong with him. Callie gets to show her greatness and solve his disease (I'm just guessing).
Meanwhile, Little Grey moves in with Steamy, but freaks when she finds out Callie is their next-door neighbor. Callie undresses in the hallway in front of them, then barges in to talk to Steamy while he's naked in the shower. Callie reassures LG that Steamy isn't interested in her because he never looks at her boobs now. Heh. Yeah, right. Meanwhile, Callie and Arizona are working on their lesbian relationship, although it was more tasteful and professionally based in this ep.
Meanwhile, Bailey is all cranky and grouchy, making all the residents mad at how short she is with them. I don't find her demeanor odd at all, the residents are all a bunch of d*ckweeds IMO, but they are all put off by her grousing at them, especially Yang, who isn't "getting her way." The end reveals Bailey is just so affected by George's death, that on top of her cr*ppy job with the d*ckweed residents and interns, plus being a single mom, she can't deal with it all. She decides not to get involved emotionally anymore, and will save that for her son.
Meanwhile ... well, that's all I remember for now. I do know that the armless chick thought Yang's nickname for her was funny, so that snapped her out of her depression and she went into therapy where I'm sure she learned to walk and use both reattached arms within that last 20 minutes. She also let LG contact her mom after LG threatened to blackmail her. So all was good there.

Thanks for the recap Ginger. Sorry I missed the mer/der sex but he's back to ordering her friends out..great.
I saw the funeral stuff too and thought it was really stupid that they were laughing too. The girl obviously had survivor's guilt and wasn't coping well. I didn't get why they wanted the Chief out-seemed contrived to me. When Callie had that fit at first I thought she was kidding or she was trying to help the Chief KEEP his job but she stormed out for no good reason--so not like her. Bit of a weird show.
That flashforward show was on--not sure if I like it. Alot of half hr stuff too Modern Family was decent but I doubt I'll ever rember the timeslot. Cougartown ok but again prob won't remember it's on. So a bunch of so so so far
DH and Bro and Sisters back on Sunday..yay!
ETA: Amazing Race as well..this was the one Ginger and I were going to partner up on ..I call first task! Go team Gindy! Snark is allowed but no knock 'em down drag outs...and I'm allowed to secretly trip people with my crutches if they're going to outrun me (or call me gimpy behind my back) I hope the first task isn't jumping out of a plane...

Well Ginger, I would have pinned you for the first task, I don't eat sushi or wasabi --I would have hersed the ducks--interesting "couples" this yr...that lawyer guy already gets on my nerves--I was hoping he was out on the license plate thing but they just beat the yoga people--too bad--they won't last long though they will be their own worst enemies. LOL at Poker chicks claiming saintly jobs--umm did you think people wouldn't figure it out if you kept yacking? I must say I like the young couple that came in first the first leg (highschool sweethearts I think) They were kind to each other and I have to say, I've seen a bit of a trend where these early romances seem to fair pretty well, maybe because they are so young they know how to be flexible and adapt to each other? Also like the globetrotter guys--but they don't need money so I'll route for the older couple (where the lady is a funny flake lol)
Disappointed with brothers and sisters...bunch of arging ...urgh
DH kind of blah but I wonder..will Lanette have an "accident" and lose the babies or something worse? I can almost hear the conservative viewers sharpening their pencils...

Okay, I have to backtrack on my Grey's recap. In all fairness to Yang and Owen, they were NOT having sex at the end, they just were in bed facing each other making moon eyes. I did spend the ep trying to catch a glimpse of pregnant Mer. That's why she was standing at the funeral laugh session and why you only caught a glimpse of her leg at the end as she ran upstairs when Alex/Izzy interrupted their "marital" sex. Alex/Izzy had to tell them they weren't married.
Can Jen fill in the blanks on that last GA half hour?
Cindy, your job is to keep me posted on Amazing Race and tell me what we do every week. I cannot get any CBS stations (thank you digital switchover), so AR, Survivor, Craig Ferguson, Letterman, Mentalist, Ghost Whisperer ... they are all history to me, I'll never see another ep. But I'm willing to run AR vicariously with you, Cindy! That's a hoot we are in first place, but did you expect less?
No problem with the sushi and wasabi ... I LOVE both. What was the challenge? And what was the duck thing? I'm expert on animals and birds/fowl, being a farm girl, so I can ride any upcoming camels or donkeys. And what was the license plate thing? You are going to have to babysit me through this season, unfortunately. Also remember to tell me where we are and where we are going. We are quite the team, you on crutches and me totally blind. Hee!
Didn't see any B&S, but caught a few minutes of DH, enough to see Mike married Susan, then Dana Delaney stole her wedding dress (?), then Lanette tells hubby she is pg with twins. The fight scene over the dress made me not turn back again.
I saw Flashforward and will give that a try for the season. I liked the pilot okay, even if it did have some holes. Olivia, the doctor wife, is Penny from Lost, and "Charlie" from Lost is slated for three upcoming eps. I find the lead guy, Joseph Fiennes, totally hot, so that helps! The pilot reminded me of a combo of War of the Worlds (Tom Cruise version, which I HATED) and The Wire (which I LOVED). BTW, Joseph is Ralph's brother, so hotness runs in the family.

Ginger: Amazing Race dumped 1 couple before it even started. They made the contestants go to a wall filled with license plates and pick out one from Japan. Of course, if you looked at the clue the symbol that was on said plates was at the top of the clue but most didn't bother with you know, reading the clue properly so they ran around like mad saying "which one is it.." Ironically (or not so much) The 2 teams that were full of ego did the worst--the yoga/motorcycle team was eliminated ( they claimed they would have a good balance throughtout the race because both were yoga instructors but they also road motorcycles so it was a good combo.." Umm..not so much.
Anyway, the couple that was second to last (but still in it) is just as bad. They guy claims to be a lawyer but so far I don't buy it. Really unstable couple.
Anyway, first task was Japanese Game show with a wheel...if you hit the wasabi you ate that than took this big group of people to some shrine as the pitstop--if you didn't hit it you had to keep eating sushi. So that was yours...the trick was the shrine was across town and you had to keep the group together --they kept losing people lol
The duck herding looked kind of fun back and forth over a bridge herding them into a pen. I would have done ok with that I think.
I'm all confused about when shows are on I saw flashforward I believe on thursday, but they ran it again on friday..that new mercy show was decent but I already can't remember when it's on ect...nothing seems to be sticking with me.
I know Eastwick is on tonight..that looks decent but I missed the first eppy--3 women with magic powers sounds like a mature version of charmed.

Cindy, I've been looking ahead at tv schedules since shows are being rerun here as well. I caught Flashforward's pilot as a repeat. I never did see Eastwick premiere listed, but its second ep is tonight here too; I thought the preview looked good, so I plan to try that. I've discovered that ANTModel is repeated on Friday, so tonight I can watch SYTYCDance without trying to watch that and Model at the same time. Yeah, confusing since those schedules will change, I'm sure.
I flipped last night between Hell's Kitchen and Biggest Loser, then some DWTStars. I only like DWTS when they are showing the practices and the actual dances. I never watch the judge comments. I like HK during the competition at the beginning, then turn over when Gordon starts going berserk. Last night I felt he was making up his histrionics over the risoto; as the one chef said, he messed up the risoto, so get on with it. I also like the BL challenges, and last night they actually had one that pertained to FOOD and nutrition. No, wait, that was last week. Last night they did an eating temptation. So ... never mind! Heh.
