Happy last day of April all...cold here today but supposed to hit 80 by Thursday. It won't stay there, but it beats the "in between" weather of late. A little birdie told me Fish starts her new (cool) job tomorrow. Good luck! I hope it goes well and you enjoy the challenge!

Issue is being reported by others, I can't log in as it won't just accept "admin" as I log in name. I'll try just Cindy as it shows here, if I had last posted in pics--I could put them up but since this was last thread I used, I clicked on the link, and could post here. Anyway, if I can't get them up soon, I'll double post tomorrow.

I don't usually post my blog stuff in here, but given that there have been so many of you the last couple of weeks, I think this is a great time to share this. I'm sure a few of you have heard about Avery's Bucket List in recent days...Let's pass it on and get this spreading even further as these parents struggle with their grief... Inspiration meets education as a little girl's story touches millions... May. 2nd, 2012 | 02:48 pm averycan.blogspot.ca/2012/04/smavery.htmlAvery died on Monday, after her too short battle with SMA. I'm sure most of you have heard about the "bucket list" her parents created for her upon diagnosis... Her Dad wrote all of the posts from her five-month-old perspective. Talk about great parents! Kudos to them for being proactive and not wallowing in self-pity. Inspiration and education rolled into one. What greater legacy is there? Rest in Peace Avery, you were a true gift.

Fish, are you chained to a desk at you're new job? Hope it's going well!

Nope, not chained to my desk -- I really like the job! Still adjusting to my new schedule -- two years of being a night owl then sleeping in every morning makes it hard to get up for work! On top of that, my Mac's hard drive died right before vacation. I'm still loading stuff back on it, so I spend a little time every night trying to get it back the way it was before. If I don't get back before the weekend, Happy Mother's Day to the moms. For everyone else, enjoy time with your mom, if you are fortunate to still have her. For those who have lost theirs, I wish you a day of good memories.

Glad you're enjoying it! You haven't had very good luck with the Mac it seems...
I had a computer issue last night too. It updated windows, slowing my netbook right down--turns out, when I looked it was like a 540 meg update! No thanks! So, after 11 ridiculous updates at once the poor thing slowed right down. I uninstalled updates (praying it wouldn't crash--this thing doesn't seem to stable) and seem to have gotten it working ok minus updates--we'll see.
Windows is so ridiculous with it's constant changes--my desktop can't be updated thanks to a broken installer after a crash 5 yrs ago and I'm still kicking over here so I'm not about to let it slow a netbook down like that.
Anyway, happy Mother's Day to you as well. I won a nice brunch so we are going to that at the Royal Botanicial Gardens not really my thing but figured Mom would enjoy
Yes, the night owl thing is hard to change, I've tried for years!

Hope all the Mom's looking in had a Happy Mom's Day. Mine was at the Royal Botanicial Gardens for brunch and a little walk around the gardens on a bright/sunny day, so it was all good!
Thanks for all you do!

Hey all. Long weekend here--weather so nice--got out to the pier today and people were actually swimming! Crazy! BIG boats out there too--some people have too much money! Jetskis too--they were ripping right over the water--going crazy burning gas like mad..lol Boys and their toys...but it looked fun! And kudos to the girl that was kayaking and keeping up!
First day in shorts--wooohooo
Good Grey's finale---months of re-runs now--big drag. Likely fireworks around tonight--might catch some out thee window!

Hello!
I haven't seen anything in the theater since last spring and the Drive Angry screening, but a couple of coworkers were talking about the new Matthew McConaughey-Jack Black flick. I don't know if it's any good, but it was filmed around here, and Matthew's kind of a hometown boy, so there ya go.
I think the chimp movie looks cute, but I'd wait and catch it on DVD. No need to get all teary-eyed in public. *grin*
