Wow, I really, really want to see Slumdog Millionaire, but it wasn't playing in Anchorage when I was there (bummer!). I guess I just have to wait for the DVD. All I know is that my BFF just raves about it and we have pretty much the same taste in movies.
I'll keep the party going and ask y'all what are some of your all time favorite moves? I love (in no particular order):
Pride and Prejudice (Keira Knightly version), Little Miss Sunshine (HILARIOUS), On Golden Pond (Oldie but goodie), The Dark Knight (How can you NOT love Heath Ledger in that), Spiderman (I and II, NOT III).
That's all I can think of right now. As you can see, I'm not much on RomComs and love the "escapist" avenue of the movie theatre. If I want drama, I'll just live my life;)

Okay, I'll get nailed for my list...
I LOVED Karate Kid 1 and 2 (simple but I just loved the relationship between the 2 guys and loved when Daniel went back home with him..lol)
I like Spiderman 1 and 2 as well (I'm a sucker for a hero too Eagle it's why I loved Superman with Dean K and Terri H --what chemistry and I loved how passionate they were) back to movies...
Pretty in Pink (loved Andrew McCarthy before he became "adult" )
Sound of Music....
Life is Beautiful
LOL on little Miss Sunshine ITA on it being funny --I mean a whole family goes cross country in a van because they think a chubby little girl is going to win? lmbo. That one was all about the journey/discovery
You know I still haven't seen the Dark Knight...
I liked Breakfast Club too...I'm an 80's kid through and through. The only thing I didn't enjoy was the neon clothes/leggings fad..LOL

Cindy, you have to see The Dark Knight. It might lose some "punch" on the small screen, but Heath Ledger really takes the cake as the Joker. Not for the faint of heart, that's for sure.

It's funny, from day one I heard how great Heath was in it. Yet, it clearly was a horribly dark time for him. Sad that his best work seems to have come while he was at a real low point. I'll put it on my long library list (thank goodness for the library:-))

I meant to add that I am thrilled to meet another "Sunshine" fan. I absolutely adore that movie and, without being too frank, I about peed my pants in the theater watching it. Abagail Breslin is TOO cute and Steve Carell is awesome (I've loved him since The Daily Show)

Abagail was on the Ellen show a few months back (yay I found a channel that shows it at 7pm) and she looked soooo different. Not "cute anymore. Very grown up looking with any hint of a few extra pounds gone. I didn't know weather to be happy for her or feel like she had been molded into what hollywood thought she should be. Anyway, she seemed happy and was already talking about her next movie.

Hey guys. Hope you had a good weekend. I'm a Molly Ringwald fan... 16 candles, Pretty in Pink, the breakfast club... ahh.. classic 80's. I also love Ferris Bueller, Titanic, Oceans 11, 12 & 13, Confessions of a Shopaholic, The Wizard of Oz, The Goonies, and pretty much just about any romantic comedy. And I don't believe I"m about to ask this.. but PB comes back April 19th right?

LOL Jen, you really sounded like a harried mom in that last post;) I'm glad to hear Maddie is doing well and how could I forget Goonies? One of my ALL TIME favs . . . and yes, the 80s did indeed rock. *sigh* The good old days, huh?
Did I tell you all I am flying into Anvik to see the Iditarod mushers come through? Well, I am;) It'll be fun. I'm currently on Spring Break and am taking 3 girls in with me from class. We're gonna stay at the school. Anvik is important because the first there gets the "First on the Yukon" prize and a 7 course meal cooked by a chef from a prestigious hotel in Anchorage. The Iditarod started last Saturday in Anchorage (ceremonial start) and the restart was on Sunday.

Oh man Eagle, I'm just reading Northern Lights by Nora Roberts and she describes the mushers coming through for Iditarod and what a huge thing it is...plus the description of the Northern Lights..wow! I wish I could stay for a week or 2 just to have a chance at seeing that. I would endure the cold for my shot. It truly does sound amazing.
Are you still finding that it's an adjustment or are you just used to it by now? Please take pics of the Northern Lights! I know a camera won't do them justice but I want to see. And get pics of the mushers too! I need you to enrich my education!:-P

Talk about a morning... it's one of those where it doesn't pay to get out of bed. While my parents are in Florida we're borrowing their 2nd car.. it's a jeep and easier to get Maddie in and out of the back than MrDills 2 door honda civic. So a light came on yesterday on the jeep.. so he took it to the dealer.. and it's an o2 light.. $285 to get it fixed.. so I tried calling my rents to see what they want us to do and finally they get back to me and (my dad hates the dealer.. thinks they're only out to get you.. like monsters under the bed or something) he says fine do it. So I call MrDill and say do it.. about 10 min later dad calls back saying don't do it. Ugh.. now we gotta get a hold of the dealer and say sorry no go. Oh and it needs to be inspected and needs brakes.. ugh. So they're not doing anything to it, Dad will take care of it when he gets home. Meantime... the oil guy is here cleaning the burner. And guess what? We need a new oil tank. Ugh. Is this day over yet? Oh no.. it's only noon. I find it relaxing to come to work and deal w/ murders/ shootings and fires. .. sad huh?

I hear you Jen. I've got sick kitty on my hands and I'm pretty sure he just needs a higher does of meds. Nothing's changed just symptoms not as well controlled now but of course it means a vet trip, me convincing the vet I think he will respond to more meds, big $$ ect. I'm finding myself in a real rut and I just hope things turn around soon.
It figures you'd get stuck dealing with someone else's car. How fun that Dad changed his mind mid-stream, I hope the car wasn't already on the hoist.. I can imagine how happy they were when they heard they weren't going to make $$ after all "Let 'ur down Bob." Smack!
Hey neira, nice to see you.

Aw Cindy. I hope Kitty is ok! My brother kitty is sick right now too.. he had to have fluid drained from his chest. He's one of 10 cats it's ever happened to... and they can either hope it heals itself... or if it doesn't they can keep having it drained or there's a surgery but it's $ 7,000... so that isn't going to happen. So we're all hoping w/ this drug it will heal itself.
