Fish here, posting with one less organ -- had my appendix removed yesterday afternoon. Felt great Tuesday, even made a 6-hour round trip to catch an art exhibit. Woke up Wed. morning with what I thought was an ulcer, but as the day went on, the symptoms changed, so I went to the ER that night. A CT scan showed appendicitis, and they admitted me. Now I am home, relatively pain free. Only sore when I walk.
I hope to take it easy for a couple of days, then get back to the housecleaning. I can't lift anything heavy for a couple of weeks, so it will be slow-going. Oh well …
We're supposed to get much-needed much cooler temperatures this weekend, so maybe I'll finally feel like doing some Christmas shopping. And Mom should be home soon, so Yay! for that. I really missed not having her at the hospital with me, but some good friends were there.

yikes bit of a strange weekend. Went to Mom's so we could go to toronto to see a world-renowned children's choir as part of my xmas gift--so disappointing --mostly latin/religious songs and we were looking for fun/happy caroling...it was ok but nothing like we wanted
Then we have dinner tonight and I end up with 4 hours of tummy agony --I literally couldn't move from the pain --not sure what the deal was but I was able to take gravol and seem ok now --so weird never had pain in my stomach that bad before--thank goodness it past because I was starting to consider the hospital as an option...

Happy last weekend before Christmas!
I hope you all have a great Christmas/Holiday --another year gone by...
I'm sorry it's taken me so long to finish my trip pics..I think I've had a really hard time being back and I'm afraid if I finish with everything the "magic" of the UK might end.
I will get it done though--my heart will just break a little at the end :-)
I wish you all the best in the New Year too--may it bring you health/happiness and prosperity!

Happy belated New Year!
Things haven't slowed down much here in the fish bowl, but it appears to be on the upswing *knock wood*
On a happy note, all this running around playing "nursemaid" has helped me lose weight -- almost 10 pounds since Mom went into the hospital back in October. Woo hoo!
I hope everyone is having a good 2013 so far. I'll try to pop in again soon.

wow--that's the hard way to do it Fish, but very effective! I really must stop eating all of these chips/chocolate...just too good until it's on my hips!

hope you all are enjoying your weekend nice temps here for a couple of days aka the spring tease ...2 big fat squirrels in the trees running around are we sure it's not spring??? no doubt the snow willl return next week! Poor Australia--they are just sweltering over there in addition to fires..yikes!

and so we get a lot of fluffy snow tonight--if I was a skier I'd be jonsing for the weekend but alas it's not to be...sounds like poor Aussie could use some cold weather to lighten things up...

FREEZING HERE TODAY/TONIGHT -15 and counting and I was down by the lake for hot chocolate and a dessert waffle..OMG no kidding ducks on the water getting blown around..totally think they are in the wrong area for the winter...someone got confused...I wanted to feed them, but too $$## cold to stand around down there...  |

at mom's for the weekend hiberating from cold weather watching movies and scarfing down popcorn--supposed to be cold temps for next 7 days AGAIN. Skiers love it I'm sure, I'm over it but got steak on the bbq tonight too so all is well...Yes Mom braved the cold to grill steaks..Mom points for that! Hope it's warmer where you all are. Fish, hope family is hanging in there ...

I have the tv mid-season blues...nothing is hitting out of the park for me these days..Touch returns this friday after it was initially supposed to return in Nov...yay for that...the rest of it I could take or leave right now....How can there be no good movies on on a Saturday night when I pay over 100 bucks a month for cable? Cannot believe I have to resort to looking forward to the return of the bickering of amazing race...:-)
