(I actually brought that up in the "anything goes" thread) You can post any day of the week too, wednesday just goes with went so I kept that, but post whatever pic you want, whenever this isn't TWOP  ) Nobody has to ask my permission to start a new thread either. Cindy, I had forgotten WF was on As the World Turns. I used to be addicted to that show, WAY back when. I remember Meg Ryan and Kevin Bacon being on there, and Marisa Tomei. Do I remember right that WF was Beth's dad? It's been ages since my ATWT days, so jog my memory, please!

I don't think that there was ever a beth on ATWT that was Guiding Light (yes, I was a soap junkie in the 80's) WF was a character named Josh and he was Iva's cousin...he raped her and and they had Lily. So it was controversial in 2 ways. a) the cousin thing and b) Iva was like 15. Lily is still on the show and Iva still gets mentioned.

Thanks for the ATWT's update, Cindy. You are correct, "Beth" was on Guiding Light, and so was Kevin Bacon, as the character Phillip's best friend. Meg Ryan was Betsy on ATWT, however. I do have that memory correct. I vaguely remember WF as Josh. Seems he was pretty creepy on the show, "smarmy" would describe him. I remember Iva and Lily. Lily had a thing for Dusty, son of the stable boy! Yeah, I know, this was all a long time ago. The actress who played Iva always seemed familiar to me, like I had seen her before.
Eagle: Callie Thorn plays Pam Mahone. She also plays Denis Leary's love interest (and wife of his dead cousin) on "Rescue Me", and Dominic West's ex-wife on "The Wire". Lucky Callie gets to kiss/be around lots of hot men in her perpetual "wife" roles!

She and WF have great chemistry, but then I think WF would have great chemistry with a wooden post. My fave WF pairing is Mahone-Lang. There is definitely an undercurrent there and "Lang" definitely has a thing for Mahone. Barbra Eve Harris (Lang) has even admitted to having a crush on WF and loving the opportunity to work with him because he is such a pro and makes her better. That definitely comes through IMO on screen. To keep the discussion going, what are everyone's fav actor (character) pairings. I KNOW there are MiSa fans out there. Personally, I love the MiMa pairings and even the MiSu (which we haven't gotten too much of lately). |

I have to say that I'm enjoying MiMa most this season. They seem to regard each other as equals now, and it makes for great scenes. Wish we got more MiSu but I've enjoyed what we've had. Sucre's loyalty to Mike is admirable (seeing as it's pretty much got him nothing but trouble) I consider Sucre as much a bro to Mike as I do Linc. I hope he gets his happy ending but I don't trust this show to do "happy" anything.
What is with the tiny quote text? That seems kinda silly, I need my glasses to read it and I'm a foot and a half from my screen.
gingerbird: before the actress (Lisa Brown I think) played Iva on ATWT she played Nola on Guiding Light for years. If you watched it, you likely saw her there first. Nola/Quinton were HUGE in the 80's. All this soap talk makes me miss my "soapy" yrs:-)

lol ok a little experimentation kinda solved it. you'll see a size=2 beside the current quote size. I changed it to 4 for this post. I clicked on the letter a (font size) to try to change it and it automatically comes up as 2 so just change that number to something higher

I like MiMa as well, they "complete" each other, to use a corny movie phrase. I am highly disappointed in MiSa now that there IS a MiSa. I've been a shipper since S1. Now that they are together every day, I must say I'm stunned at Michael's lack of libido. Although he never had a girlfriend before Fox River (that we knew about), so maybe he's just a celibate kind of guy. How GROSSLY disappointing! My infatuation with WM has cooled to (practically) nil, however, so I guess I'm off the MiSa ship. The MiMa ship, however, is another story. That one is hot!
Cindy, you are brilliant. Of course I remember Nola from Guiding Light, which is why Iva always looked so familiar. I never recognized the actress's name, just her face, and it always bugged me. I used to watch ATWT followed by GL every single day without fail. I don't watch any soaps now; everyone is just way too young on them. Hee!
