Eagle, I remember your photos when you posted the link in The Yard. There was a cross on the hill behind your school ... is there a story behind that? I also did an info search on your town, just because I'm nosy and love research, so I'm guessing most of your students are Inuit? How are you finding students raised in an Alaskan culture different from kids in the lower 48? And are most of your kids headed for college or do they even have future plans yet? I guessing Alaskans are very open and welcoming and unassuming. Am I close? I am very interested in this topic! OKay, so I'm OT in the photo thread ... Ginger, the village I work in was an old missionary school. It was the old "save the savages" routine at the turn of the 20th century. Most of the villagers are native Athabascans, which is the primary tribe of the Interior of Alaska. The Inuits live farther north on the Slope (the northern most part of the AK).

Hmmm...I think that's cause we're not Facebook friends (I've got my settings so that only friends can comment, etc.)

Awesome photos Sabina! Apparently, this snow is good for something, it makes for nice composition in black and white pics! And you know something? One of the reasons why I wanted to start this site was because I knew it would be smaller than TWOP and we would get to know each other a little better. (Like Sabina's name is also Shanna--pretty name) and Jen's other half is Jay (Jen and Jay --cute!) and that pic (which I assume is you Sabina?) just makes it a little more personal. With less traffic here, we can do those types of things and feel pretty secure about it. I have also discovered that this board has a "privacy" option so if someone disrupts our group, I have the option of making it private list members only. I doubt it will happen, but still, nice to know.

Hey, Cindy...thanks!
Yeah, that's my name, but it's pronounced like "Shawna". And yes, that's me - frozen!
I was a little concerned about the name thing on here - but whatever.

smg.photobucket.com/albums/v624/CindyM99/brad/The password is pictures tried to just post the images directly in here since they weren't huge, but I messed something up and they wouldn't come up. It's a few Brad Paisley pics. I didn't take them, a friend did. If you click on the pic you can enlarge it and see it much clearer.

I didn't see the tooth, I was distracted by what might have made her cry..lol
And that last pic just makes me cold...lol

Yeah the tooth picture I was holding her hand away from the camera... which caused her to open her mouth so I could get the picture. The snow is gone now.. thankfully!
