no kidding Jen, my bathroom is disaster room number one at my house....aww to Mommy time do we get a new maddie pic soon? My laundry problem is that it's 3 floors down and you need quarters/loonies. (canadian $) Quarters I've got, loonies are harder so half the time I blow off laundry til it's overflowing.
Hey Hep! Good to see you. No computer at home, no wonder it's tricky to get online. Kind of hard to say "excuse me while I get my PB fix." 17 days off...nice! I don't hear people chiming in with their weird gifts here, does that mean you had a nice day and that there are no packages that will end up in the neighbors recycling bin? LOL Seriously, no clue what to do with some of this stuff.
Jen: Never got into 24 because someone told me it was like the fugitive and I figured I couldn't handle the stress. Turns out, I had PB for that.:-) I'll say this though, jailbird or not Kiefer is a cutie. That said, this hollywood drunk driving nonsense is ridiculous, it's like a revolving door.
LMBO at Yukon the GM truck. I hope Eagle doesn't live in one..she'll freeze. -10 here soon and that's cold enough for me thanks. Speaking of Eagle, I'm off to find her Monday Mahone pic!

I don't think we took any pics this weekend... I'll have to see what I can find. Yeah 24 is stressful... but like Pb it's a good stress.

LOL you all crack me up;) In a good way! Cindy, tears are in my eyes at your Monday Mahone pics and your thinking of me;) Things are good here in Alaska. It's snowing right now, and is going to be in the 20's here tomorrow (Wed), which is positively balmy! It beats -30 to -40! I wish you the best in decorating;) With funds available, redecorating can be fun.

Yes eagle, apparently we are getting your crap cold...lol My bedroom is like a freezer and I have a fan in the window that I don't want to take out because behind it, the window is open and I'm afraid it won't close (thanks to a frozen track) At least right now the fan blocks most of the window. Jen, can I borrow Jay for this stuff please? I promise to return him:-)
Glad you are liking your Mahone pics. I cannot believe that the network is waiting 4 months for 7-8 lousy eppies. I guess that means we'll have TWOP til around June.
Eagle: You're the teacher, get over to the book thread and recommend some awesome ones:-)
I was thinking of all the kids books I've read over the years...anyone else remember "Tales of a fourth grade nothing." followed by "superfudge" Judy Blume was the "it" author back then. Okay, I'm getting really old..lol

LOL! Yes m'am! I honestly try to keep up with the messageboard, but a lot of days I'm just too wiped. I'll make up my book list and get back to ya . . . And, it does indeed seem that we've sent all of our cold weather south;) Enjoy J/K

LOL no offense taken jen . . . but it looks as if the East Coast is getting hit broadside by Old Man Winter.
Cindy, I didn't get any weird gifts this year. My family is that stage that we do "lists" and pretty much stick to that. I got a lot of what I asked for, so no complaining. The one thing I love, and only my brother and his wife do it, is that they send a gift for my cats (I have two) along with their gift for me. For some reason, that's just really sweet to me. Anyway, now that I've revealed I'm a "cat lady", have you lost all respect;) J/K

Eagle, my Mom did that this yr for the first time in 17 yrs..she bought Buddy a cat tree and it meant more to me than any of my weird gifts..lol It was like she finally acknowledged his existance and how important he was to me. Gingerbird, Jen, Sabina and myself are all big animal people (not sure about neira and hep but I'm sure they'll be nice to the cat ladies:-)) so you fit right in:-) I still want to see pics of them... Yes, I'm pretty much an icicle after the cold in my room last night...is it Spring yet?

I'm so bored at work today. I actually have stuff to do, just don't feel like doing it. Very productive day. Cindy, I'm not a cat person, but I get the animal thing. I'm a big dog lover. I actually want to move to a new apartment so I can get a dog. And I bought my parents' two dogs presents for Christmas, and they didn't even get them anything! I mean, they were really my dogs too, up until I moved out 2 years ago. But I think my mom just depends on me to buy them stuff. I think it's so nice how your families bought your cats gifts. Hey, pets are just as much part of the family as anyone else. Speaking of dogs, did any of you see Marley & Me? I read the book and loved it, so I knew it would be good and funny and sad. But man, I was bawling by the end of it. Big baby, this one here. And "Tales of a 4th Grade Nothing"! Loved it! My 4th grade (natch) class actually put on a little play that we wrote from that book. It was so cheesy. My first (and last!) acting experience. Good times. P.S. It's so frickin' cold here today! The temp was -10 this morning on my way to work. I don't think it even went above zero at all today. Thanks, Eagle! Didn't you hear, you're supposed to keep the cold up there.

Ok.. so I posted over in the Yard.. but I'll post it here too... we're planning Maddie's 1st birthday party.. it's set for April 19th (when my bro and sil can come up from FL) .. although that's orthadox easter... don't go there... the family that celebrates that will just come when they want I guess... anyway.. so the list is currently at 110. And that's just immediate (or what we call immediate) family and our close friends. Our immediate family includes us, our rents, their siblings and jay's cousins cuz I've got 5 aunts/uncles and they've all got a brood so it's way too many to invite my cousins! oh and don't forget Jay's real dad and step mom, his nana and 2 step brothers... although I'd put about $500 that none of them will show. Ok.. so what do we do about this? I find it ridiculous but don't really think we can cut down the list... I'm guessing about 75 will show. we've got to rent out a hall.. food... good lord we're talking hundreds of dollars! HELP!

Jen...ummmm...wow...for a 1 yr old b-day party? When I was one, I smashed my fist into a cake and that was the end of it...lol Seriously, can't you just do like this big pot luck thing so it doesn't cost so much? With so many people, I'd at least move it to June/July so you can be outside and do the immediate family on the actual day. You/Jay/Mom/Dad ect. It seems a shame to spend so much when she is likely too young to remember it. The only way I know I slammed my fist into the cake is because I've seen the pic... Hep: good on ya for remembering your doggie! Yeah, it's tricky having animals in apartments....I actually feel guilty because space is so limited. No, I haven't seen Marley but it looks good, but if you were crying I'm betting the dog dies? Why must writers make everything die at the end? Oh hep I'd PAY to watch a vid of you in that play..lol Thank god I didn't grow up in the utube age....or my Mom would have vid of me reading the 3 bears to my class while sitting on the teacher's lap...I actually thought I wrote it because I copied it out of a book onto my own pieces of paper! ;D (yes, yes, I now know it's plagiarism ) Yes Eagle, thanks so much for the deep freeze. I can't feel my toes anymore

We couldn't do it without having at the bare minimum of about 40 and thats inviting some and not others and w/o offending people cuz they're not invited but their sibling is. And that's 95% his family... and like my mom and dad and bro and sil. There's no having it another time... the family just wont' go for that... i tell you.. family sucks.

Well pass around a money bucket than..lol seriously, that's crazy. How are you supposed to pay for all those people? Send out cards with a pic of Maddie "Sorry, we wanted to have a party but there are too %$%% many of you. Here's what our daughter looks like, and we'll be spending the money that would have gone toward her party on her college education. Thanks so much! Sincerely, M, J and J." LOL Heck, I'll do it for you.

Lol cindy you make me laugh! I'm sure the grandparents will bring stuff and so will Jay's 2 step sisters and his aunt.. so it's not like we're bringing everything.. it just feels obnoxious to me.. and yet I keep going over and over the list and short of cutting out our friends I don't see how we could make it any smaller.

Oh Jen, no laughs intended. I would totally pull something like that..lol ALL these people think they are pulling out a b-day invite only to discover...ummm...no....LOL I mean, when are you supposed to do all of this? You work full-time, Jay works full-time, if that many people want to be fed for free, they can go to a company picnic.. ;D Seriously this is YOUR daughter's first b-day. Yes, there is always family around, but you, Jay, and Maddie are the MAIN family. If YOU don't want a huge party, than don't do it. People will get over it and when they gripe about it over Thanksgiving dinner, just tell them that MADDIE had a great time with her parents. I know it's probably unrealistic of me to suggest this (and I'm probably stepping WAY over a line I shouldn't) but how great would it be to have some sweet memories of the day versus "Do we have enough money, do we have enough food?" Maddie's favorite thing will likely be the bow on the first present. (See Blossom's post on TWOP re: Justin's b-day.) You only get the first year once. Okay, I'm done stepping over the line now and I hope you don't take offense.
