I can't even watch DWTS for that reason. It's WAY to serious given that these people do have other professions and they've had like 3 serious injuries before it even started. That's what happens when you get amateurs dancing that have no clue how to train. Pretty soon they'll have to call it "taking a header" with the stars.
Yes Ginger, I see a coma coming with the network hoping for a future eppies deal.
Everytime I saw the amazing race people running I thought of those people that do the polar bear dips....not my thing but hey, go for it! And LOL at the "lawyers" it's clear they think they are above the rest, too bad they don't know their way off a mountain..lol

The Guiding Light is being canceled after 30-some years! Last ep is in September. I'll have to watch the last ones to see if they bring back any of the characters I used to watch the show for. Maybe some of the now-famous actors will come back for the farewell, like on ER. Speaking of, that last ep is tonight. I might watch a little, even though I've never watched a single ep, just so I can follow the follow-up convos the next day.
Television is my friend ... I could talk about tons of different shows. Where to start? Heh. My evenings are reserved for on-the-couch, under a blanket, to watch my daily fav shows. If nothing is on I like, I watch one on DVD for channels I don't get. I'm almost done right now with S1 of Mad Men. I HATE it! I got a kick out of Martha Stewart this morning; I never watch her, but she had Seth Meyers on (so cute, I could steal him and keep him forever). Martha asked him some of his favorite SNL hosts. Seth replied, "Jon Hamm," and that he liked Mad Men. Martha said she didn't because she lived through that era as a model on Madison Avenue and she HATED those ad execs, they were all so horrid. She said she was asked to bring a bikini to one audition. So, she's there in front of all these ad guys and she asks if the photo shoot is a swimsuit one. The (gross) guys reply, no, that the bikinis were brought so they wouldn't get so bored looking at all of the auditioning models.
And that pretty much sums up why I hate Mad Men! (I'm selling the DVDs as soon as I'm done watching.)
I also hated Nip/Tuck. HATED it. For basically the same reason, very anti-woman, pro male-dominated society. Those DVDs are also going on eBay.
Watched the finale of Life on Mars last night. Can't say I was all that happy with it. I was hoping Sam would wake up from a comma and be back with Lisa Bonet. Well, at least it ended instead of just being taken off the air.

Gingerbird: What a great blend of old/new for the ER finale tonight. I have to say, I think this group of writers/producers will be remembered for a long time. The only time they came off the rails was the Ramono stuff as Peanut mentioned...top notch for 15 straight seasons with another network wanting to buy them out to keep it going (and a flat refusal by TPTB) You know you've done something right when all the "oldies" agree to come back and fitting that Rachel was there. She used to be such a BRAT so it was good to see it come full circle.
Yes, I heard about GL. Sad, they were a big part of my teenage years but the writing has been horrible for yrs now, so I can't really say I'm to surprised. I think ATWT might be next. Their writing is just as bad (I still tape an eppy now and again and FFed looking for all the vets they NEVER use)
I never buy dvd's. My library has them all:-)

Hey Ginger, you mentioned that you were a huge Lost fan and you were in a hurry at the time but was gonna come back on here to talk about Lost. I saw this weeks eppie. It was fantastic. Sawyer is my fave although I had mixed feelings the last couple of eps. He's still yummy to look at mind! I'm becoming fixated with Richard Alpert too. He's very yummy.
But aside from that the whole story line is just so enthralling - and addictive!!
What did you think of this weeks ep?

Peanut! I did not see your post until just now! Yes, Lost is my favorite show this year and last, too. It's a hot-man overload, I like all of them except Jack, who I cannot stand, he's so namby-pamby and whiny. Although he did get a backbone a season or so ago when he was captured to operate on Ben, put him on the surgical table and opened him up, then said "Let my friends go or Ben dies." That was awesome tv!
I'm a huge Sawyer fan, too, and that stuff with Kate and him (cage sex!) was flammable. I like he wears glasses to read -- men in glasses are HOT IMO -- and that he reads, too. Men who read are very sexy. But I have to say I like Sayid even better. Remember when he did the neck-snap with his legs to kill that Other on the beach? He was SO handsome in the flashforward, too, in the nice clothes and hair groomed. I especially liked the scene in the coffee shop. Plus, you have to love that he was working for Habitat for Humanity when he got off the island!
But most of all, I'm a Desmond Hume groupie. When he was at Oxford looking for Faraday's mom, he had on that scarf and ball cap ... yowza, I could have kidnapped him right then and there to take to my own private island.
I about had a heart attack at the end of the ep when little Ben let Sayid out of jail. My fav line in that ep: Sawyer to Sayid-in-jail: "How are you?" Sayid: "I just got a sandwich from a 12-year-old Benjamin Linus, how do you think I am?" Bwahaha!
Those shows always give me a heart attack in the last few minutes. When Sayid shot little Ben, I thought I would fall right off my couch. I was completely gobsmacked.
Then last week, it's revealed how Ben got all beat up before he got on the plane to go back to the island. I was terrified that he had killed Penny since he promised Widmore he was going to, and Des being with Penny was the one thing I was SO happy about, I wanted my man to find happiness at last. Anyway, when Ben shot Des so fast, I yelled a terrible cuss word and about jumped off the couch, it all happened so quickly. Hokey smokes.
I still don't know why Ben wanted to apologize to Desmond, except maybe for shooting him.
I really like John Locke, I like how Terry O'Quinn plays him, like he knows things that others don't. Which he does! Heh. And the ending of the ep where Ben KILLS John? Holy c r a p, I tell you, the last minutes of that show just blew my brain right out of my head.
Richard Alpert is hot, yes, but I am distracted by his eye liner! Heh.
p.s. I've read that a mid-main character is going to die this season. Last spec I read, it might be Juliette since the actress has signed onto another show. But of course, TPTB aren't talking. I don't care if Juliette leaves, although she's a good distraction for Jack so Kate can get back with Sawyer. Heh.
I might also add, I like Farraday, and Miles is a hoot. This week Miles gets sent to communicate with a dead body. That should be some good tv!
It's been a bit hard for me to get my head around everyone now being in 1970, even though I like the time-traveling island thing. Two Bens on the island IS a little much! Heh. And where has Faraday been? His girlfriend is now eight-years-old. Kinda kinky-weird, no?

Hey Ginger!
Yeah Jack is annoying. He's annoyed me since the first season. There was an episode where a woman drowned. Boone I think it was tried to save her and then Jack went in and saved Boone but the girl drowned. Well there was a conversation between Jack and Kate after where he was all "I should have saved her!! <cuz I am the hero and even though there are 46 other people on this beach and I was busy being herioic elsewhere, I should have used my super-powers to save her! brood, brood, brood" and Kate was all "Well you already do so much blah blah blah <fan the inflated ego some more>" and he was still all "But I should have saved her <brood, brood, oh woe is me. Being a hero is tough>" Like way to make the poor womans death all about you, Jack! He bugged me from then on but I really started to dislike him in S2 when he started keeping stuff from the other Losties and then in S3 aswell and was all "I didn't tell you blah blah blah cuz I hadn't decided to yet". I'm not actually a Jack hater per se but I think Sayid would have been a better leader.
And yes, Sayid is hot!
And Desmond too!!! The Scottish accent is my fave accent with the Southern American twang my second. So it's a happy Peanut that gets two hotties in the one show that have my fave accents!!!
But Sawyer is my fave. Swooooooooon!!
I was spoiled for Sayid shooting Ben. I'm gonna have to get good again and not get spoiled. I've started watching the eps on a Thursday online so I don't have the tempation of checking out recaps by having to wait until Sunday to watch it on TV.
So please don't let anything slip when you watch tomorrows eppie. I'm gonna watch it on Thursday night.
I think they had Ben ask Sun to apologise to Desmond so we would think the worst. They showed that scene before they showed what happened at the dock. So maybe he was apologising for shooting him and pointing a gun at Penny. I think when he saw wee Charlie he changed his mind anyway (before the wonderful Desmond pummelled him!)
Terry O'Quinn is awesome. I love his and Bens scenes together. Much snark!
And shame on you for saying you are distracted by Richard's eyeliner!! It's not eyeliner! They are actually his natural eyelashes and they just look really really dark. I read about it online. The guy must get some stick about it though. I love how they even threw in that line where Sawyer says something to Horace about "Eyeliner guy outside!" ha!
I loved that scene though where Richard came stalking into the DI with the torch and just stuck it into the ground and shouted for Horace. Very hot! And then how he was just sitting back on the bench waiting patiently for someone to come out to him with an explanation or something.
I like Juliette and I actually like her with Sawyer. I decided that Kate doesn't deserve him anymore and if I can't have him I'm happy enough for Juliette to have him. hee.
I too like Farraday and Miles. Loved the convo the other week between Miles and Hurley. Very funny. Really looking forward to the next episode!

Well, peanut, it's safe to read this because there will be nothing about last night's Lost ep posted here. I was all set on the couch, excited to watch my FAV SHOW. And 10 minutes in, the station goes off the air. No kidding. It came back on when there was about 10 minutes left. If you want to discuss wolf packs in Yellowstone, I can do that since I watched that show while Lost was ... well, LOST.
The station went off when Miles was suppose to take the body to The Orchid and came back on when Miles was reading Hurley's script for the second Star Wars. That's not a give-away since I don't have a clue about what those things mean or what happened in the middle.
Then I fell asleep watching Equitrekking where Darley was riding in Scotland. Gah. So my night was cr@p all the way around.
I hope your viewing goes better, pnut!

For anyone who watched Amazing Race this week: I was stunned at the behavior of Margie and Luke, the mom and deaf son. The black woman was so justified calling Luke a b i tch when he butt-blocked her away from the clue box; I would have called him worse. Then he freaking body slams her at the next clue box, nearly knocking her flat, sending the clue box skidding. Then HE gets offended? He was only offended because he's spoiled, used to getting his way, and was p*ssed the black team beat him and his mom for first place. While he was crying about being "handicapped," the replays showed him knocking that woman around over and over and over. THEN my jaw literally fell open when Maggie yells at the black women that because they're black they should understand discrimination. Holy cr*p. And all during the deaf kid's tantrum, the poor Chinese couple is standing in between. So: Let's talk about who is discriminated against more, a deaf man who no one KNOWS is deaf when he is in public, or black women or Chinese people who stand out as "different" in every crowd they are in.
Well, except when they are in China. That rocked that the Chinese lawyer siblings spoke Mandarin. After this ep, I don't hate them any more, and I'm also rooting for the black gals. Anyone but Luke and his mother, both of whom feel entitled because of poor Luke's handicap. What a cruel world it is for them both.
Oh, forgot about the cheerleader girls. They can go home next week. I was sorry to see the stunt guys leave, they were having such a good time playing by their own rules. Heh.

Hey Grey's fans, it was announced yesterday that the actress who plays Meredith is pregnant. Any thoughts about how that will fit a story line?

Ginger: I've said from the beginning the deaf kid is spoiled. He is an adult but Mommy steps in? Give me a break. Both teams should have just left it out in the field. Phil should have been smart enough to leave it alone, but they clearly wanted to make it an issue so there it was. I'm not really a fan of anyone left except I will say, glad lawyer girl found her voice. I still think Bro is full of beans.
I wish they would write in the pregnancy on Grey's it would fit perfectly but you know, they won't. They'll make up some Mer/Der angst and she'll disappear for awhile or worse I'm sure. That show just won't do a "stable" couple. It's all about the drama.
Sorry you lost out on LOST..that blows..lol

I've read that Meredith and Derek are going to be the "stable" relationship on Grey's, all the breaking up stuff is over. Other shows have covered pregnancies by shooting from the waist up, or having the actress hold something in front of her stomach. It would be easy to do that in a doctor show.
I don't have a favorite on Amazing Race either. Last season I did, and they won, although I cannot remember who they were any more! I will be disappointed if Margie and Luke win, that's all I know about this season. I haven't been watching that closely, so hadn't noticed that Luke was so "privileged" until this week. Maybe I'm hoping the black women win, just to spite Luke. Heh.
I could really hear Phil's BAAAAH-ston accent last week during the Luke rant. Usually it only sneaks in a tiny bit. Phil was on the radio this morning since today is AR auditions, but I turned it off and didn't get to hear him. I'm sure it would have been interesting.
Lost last night was a real disappointment. The station stayed on the entire hour (!), but the show was just another recap of the Oceanic Six, how they got where they were, updating us on everything we've seen already this season. Except they did not cover what I missed last week in the Miles ep. Heh. Go figure.
I'm only watching Grey's this year -- I quit two years ago after getting sick of the high-school panty-raid stupidity and the patients who cannot SHUT THE FREAK UP and have to spout soliloquies ad nauseam -- because of Kevin McKidd being on. He's a ginger-headed hottie IMO, and he really shows up the others in the acting department, just like WF is doing on PB. I hope he does get back with Christina; I like her character as well, even if she gets some c r ap writing/dialogue.
It's a mystery if George or Izzy is going to die, but one or both of those actors is suppose to be leaving the show, according to the trades. I think it might be George, just that's just a guess.
p.s. I guess Edie is really dead since it's hard to come back from being cremated.
